Finding a story in an artists self expression

Alix is guesting at The Good Fight April 21st-23rd here’s a brief insight into her thoughts on tattooing.

My name is Alix, I’m 35 and living in Paris.
I started tattooing 6 years ago, after a burn out working in the luxury industry.
I’m still feeling like a baby tattooer in the tattoo game but Working in a big shop in Paris like venenum makes me learn so much things that improved myself and makes me feel more and more confident in my work.
It’s complicated for me to define my style, and it’s actually always moving, as I start with illustrative minimalist blackwork and move more and more toward finelines and floral ornements.

I love to create surrealistic faces with lot of stuff coming out from them, like flower of clouds or galaxy and work on the contrast of lines and black and grey.
I draw to express myself, and I love when customers take a flash because they find a piece of their own story in it or that the drawing speaks to them directly.
I have lot of people who do collection of tattoo artists and I love to be in that kind of collection.

I was really inspired by the work of Johnny gloom in Paris and Lady bonsaï in Napoli at the beginning but there are so many artists that I love for their work that it would take too long to name them all. I can tell few like Zander Mason in New Zélande or Hilary Jane in Canada, Coco Tristana in canary island or welfaredentist in Canada, Lydia Madrid and Sara Corazon … so many more.
I’m actually a big fan since long time of Nick whybrow and Oddhouse work from your shop, so I’m so excited to meet them (and it’s true, it’s not to be a kiss-Ass)

Lately i start to propose tiny faces tattoo and im so enjoying it ! It’s new, but I love to create like tiny jewels at this place, it’s my recent favorite thing!
