Which Tattoo Artist in London Is Right for You?

Looking for the right tattoo artist in London?

Choosing a tattoo artist can feel difficult, especially in a city like London where there are so many tattoo studios and so many different styles to choose from.

At The Good Fight Tattoo in Camden, we take a slightly different approach. Rather than expecting every artist to tattoo every style, we believe that finding the right person for the job is an important part of getting a tattoo you'll be happy to live with.

Our artists all have their own experience, interests and creative approaches. Whether you're looking for illustrative tattooing, anime, Chinese-inspired work, neo-traditional, gothic, science fiction, fine line or something that doesn't fit neatly into one category, we'll help point you in the right direction.

If you're not sure which tattoo artist is right for your idea, here's a little guide to who does what at The Good Fight.

You should choose Nick if...

...you have an idea that doesn't fit neatly into one particular tattoo style, or you're looking for an experienced tattoo artist who can help develop your idea into something personal and individual.

Nick has been tattooing since 2003 and, quite simply, loves tattooing in all its different forms. Although he's perhaps best known for his distinctive illustrative and etching-inspired work, his years of experience mean he's comfortable working across a wide range of styles and subjects.

His work can include illustrative tattooing, Japanese-inspired designs, blackwork, fineline, larger custom projects and ideas that combine influences from several different places.

If you've got an unusual idea, aren't entirely sure how you want it to look yet, or simply want to sit down with an experienced artist and work out the best way to approach it, Nick enjoys that creative challenge.

Best suited to: illustrative tattoos, custom designs, Japanese-inspired work, blackwork, fineline and ideas that don't fit neatly into one particular style.

You should choose Sara if...

...your tattoo is deeply personal, rich in symbolism or inspired by Chinese culture, fine detail and elegant illustrative design.

Drawing on her Fine Art background and Hong Kong heritage, Sara creates thoughtful custom tattoos that often incorporate Chinese calligraphy, cultural symbolism and imagery connected to her own background and experiences.

Her work can be particularly well suited to people looking for a Chinese tattoo artist in London, as well as clients looking for delicate illustrative work, meaningful symbolism and tattoos with a strong personal connection.

Whether you're commemorating an important moment, exploring your cultural heritage or simply want a beautifully balanced tattoo with subtle detail, Sara takes a calm and collaborative approach to developing each design.

Best suited to: Chinese-inspired tattoos, calligraphy, meaningful symbolism, fine detail and delicate illustrative work.

You should choose Lord if...

...you're drawn to bold colours, expressive artwork and tattoos with plenty of personality.

Lord specialises in neo-traditional and nu-skool tattooing, creating custom pieces with strong composition, vibrant colour and distinctive character.

His work is designed to be bold, readable and eye-catching while still feeling personal to the person wearing it. He enjoys collaborating closely with clients to create tattoos that make an impression and are built to stand the test of time.

If you love confident artwork, strong colour and tattoos with a lot of character, Lord could be the right artist for you.

Best suited to: neo-traditional tattoos, nu-skool, colourful designs, bold imagery and expressive custom artwork.

You should choose Belle if...

...you love anime, manga, gaming or vibrant character-driven artwork.

Belle specialises in anime-inspired tattoos, colourful designs and custom illustrations that capture movement, emotion and personality.

Whether you're looking to celebrate a favourite anime or game, recreate a character you love or develop an entirely original concept, Belle enjoys working closely with clients to create tattoos that feel exciting, individual and full of life.

If you're looking for an anime tattoo artist in London and want someone who understands the source material while also thinking about how it will work as a tattoo, Belle is a great place to start.

Best suited to: anime tattoos, Disney tattoos, manga, gaming, colourful character tattoos and expressive illustrative work.

You should choose Alex if...

...your idea is inspired by science fiction, horror, fantasy or artwork that sits somewhere outside more traditional tattoo styles.

Coming from a graffiti background, Alex brings a different artistic perspective to tattooing. His work is often influenced by science fiction, films, darker imagery, unusual characters and ideas that don't necessarily fit into an obvious category.

Alex enjoys taking unconventional ideas and finding a creative way to turn them into something that works as a tattoo.

If you're looking for something strange, imaginative, futuristic, dark or simply a little different from the ordinary, Alex is likely to enjoy the challenge.

Best suited to: science fiction, horror, fantasy, surreal ideas, unconventional concepts and imaginative custom tattoos.

You should choose Corny if...

...you're drawn to gothic imagery, surreal artwork and darker forms of creative expression.

Corny's work is inspired by symbolism, dark art and surreal illustration. Her tattoos often combine striking imagery with intricate detail to create something atmospheric, unusual and highly personal.

If you're looking for a tattoo with a darker edge, whether that's gothic, surreal, symbolic or simply difficult to categorise, Corny's creative approach may be the right fit for your idea.

Best suited to: gothic tattoos, dark imagery, surreal artwork, cyber cigilism, symbolism and unusual illustrative designs.

What if my idea doesn't fit neatly into one style?

That's completely normal.

In fact, many of the best custom tattoos don't fit perfectly into a single category.

Your idea might combine Japanese composition with illustrative linework, fine detail with bold blackwork, or influences from several completely different artistic traditions.

You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what style your tattoo is or which artist you need to book with. That's part of what we're here for.

One of the advantages of visiting a tattoo studio with a diverse team of artists is that we can look at your idea and recommend the person we genuinely believe is best suited to the job.

We're not interested in squeezing every tattoo into the same style or persuading you to book with a particular artist just because they happen to have availability.

The goal is to find the right person for your tattoo.

A good tattoo doesn't end when you leave the studio

Choosing the right tattoo artist is important, but looking after your tattoo properly once you've got it is important too.

Every artist has their own preferred aftercare methods, so you should always follow the guidance given to you by the person who tattooed you.

If you're getting tattooed at The Good Fight, our Tattoo Aftercare & Healing Guide explains what to expect during the healing process, how to care for your tattoo and what you should and shouldn't do while it heals.

Still not sure which tattoo artist to choose?

Don't worry. You don't need to know exactly who you want to book with before getting in touch.

Send us your idea, a few reference images if you have them, or even just a rough description of what you're thinking.

We'll take the time to understand what you're looking for and recommend the artist we genuinely believe is the best fit for your tattoo.

And if you're using AI-generated images to help explain your idea, that's fine too. Many clients now arrive with AI-generated reference images because they can be a useful way of communicating something that's difficult to visualise. It’s important to note that we won’t copy these exactly, more that they can be a good jumping off point.

We've also written a guide explaining how AI can be used as a creative reference for tattooing, while still allowing the artist to design something individual rather than simply copying an AI-generated image.

Our job isn't to persuade you to book with a particular artist.

It's to make sure you end up with the right one.

Every tattoo artist has their own strengths, creative influences and way of approaching a project. There isn't a single "best" tattoo artist in London—only the artist who's the best fit for your idea.
